Going Green
What makes us green?
In addition to offering a green consumer product, we believe it is equally as important to keep the
carbon footprint of our business to a minimum in order to protect the future of our babies. Here is how
we do it...
- We always recycle, reduce, and reuse! Packaging materials are recycled and new packaging is made from the highest post-consumer content available.
- All in-house printing is done on recycled paper with 100% post consumer content. Thirsties hang tags are printed on 35% post consumer content paper.
- The office and packing&shipping space(where we spend most of our days) is heated primarily by solar hot air collectors. The collectors themselves were made from 95% post consumer waste as was the industrial lift that connects the industrial lift that connects the two floors of our warehouse.
- Four large windows were added to the south wall of the 1000 sqft overstock area to provide passive solar heat for this area.
- All fabric components are sourced as locally as possible thereby cutting down on unnecessary transportation.
- All cutting and sewing is also done in Colorado so as to keep transport carbon to a minimum.
- We choose fabrics that dry quickly and remain soft even when hung to dry to encourage our customers to retire their dryers.

We are very proud of the fact that all of our products are USA-made by a group of very talented women, many of whom work in the comfort and convenience of their own homes. Thanks to the support of our dedicated customers, we are celebrating the direct development of 12 new jobs in our area -- that's putting bread on the table for families right here in Colorado! This represents incredible and exciting growth in such shaky economic times and we have you and your support to thank!
We use only the best of USA-sourced components in order to reduce our carbon footprint, to help support domestic textile mills, and to ensure your diapers will last wash after wash. Each and every aspect of the design of our diapers is carefully considered and all fabric and components are vigilantly selected as the very best. Thirsties cloth diapers are well-known as providing the very best in comfort and leak-proof cloth diapering.

Our warehouse is a renovated 1920's filler station in downtown Caņon City, Colorado. Caņon City is a small town nestled up against the south-eastern foothills of the Rocky Mountains. We choose to relocate from Denver over 3 years ago to enjoy the great climate and endless recreational opportunities. The Arkansas River provides some of the best rafting and kayaking in the world. The hills that surround us offer amazing hiking and mountain biking opportunities. If you happen to be cruising through sunny and beautiful, Caņon City, Colorado...we'd love to meet you and give you the tour.
Sizing
Our sizes are very generous. Resist the temptation to size up! Buying a diaper or cover that is too large, will end up leaking. Please note that our X-Small size is perfect for the average size newborn baby and will fit thru the first 2-3 months. If you are hoping to skip a size, Large may be the one to go without. Many babies can wear their Mediums all the way thru to potty learning.
